Amplifying the sensory input for high frequency insight. Born 1986. 'Recomposing systems formed of echoes, migrations, tensions and interactions between esthetic and cultural motifs that are at times quite unrelated, Jonathan Martin views art as a poetics of passage where permutations and displacements offer the possibility of a new narrative' (Julien Fronsacq). Martin's films, sound pieces, and prints have been shown at Chrystie Canyon, The Film Gallery, Gaudel de Stampa, Goton, K11 Art Foundation in Hong Kong and Shanghai, MABA, Palais de Tokyo, Le Plateau / Frac île-de-France, and more. He sometimes composes sound for moving image by other artists. He is also the editor of Turpentine, published since 2013 with Jean-Luc Blanc, Mimosa Echard, and their guests. Find him here and here.
